  Both ovens are on and the whole house is filled with the aroma of something being baked! When my husband and I first moved into the farmhouse I had to restock all my spices to be able to bake whatever my heart desired. When we were designing the farmhouse I told my husband since we were moving to the country I needed a big kitchen. We came up with designing a baking kitchen and a cooking kitchen. How dirty baking or cooking can become and having all the ingredients everywhere....I needed space. There also needed to be enough counter space to allow the baked goods to cool off....so hence the baking kitchen and the cooking kitchen. This weekend I have hopes and dreams of trying my hand at some homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. Fingers crossed the recipe I am trying is a tried and true recipe.   It seems so weird we have went thru all the Holidays already!  I feel like I can not keep up! Can you keep up? It is January 13th and I still have my Christmas decorations up. I know! Why are they still up? I have no idea....ok....well...I was sick last week and I just relaxed with my little family at the farmhouse this weekend. I walked around my lanai and watered my plants. There was time for me to be able to prune some plants and just look over all of my plants growing and talk over them letting them know  how proud I was of them. I had a cactus outside my lanai and decided to bring the cactus inside my lanai. I do not know why I did not think of moving the cactus in before because it looks amazing in my lanai. You can see the pot the cactus is in and needs to be changed to a bigger and better pot. I will make it my mission to change it to a bigger pot this coming weekend, Lord willing.   Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great New years and is safe and sound. I can not believe we are in the year 2025! Do we all think 2025 will fly by even faster than 2024 did? There is bird flu, stomach flu, and the orbs in the sky.....what a way to start the new year!? I was out of work for almost a week due to getting sick. I had plans to be off for two days and I had my two days planned out and nope! I started to feel out of sorts by the end of the night of New Years. The next morning I was stuck in bed sick! I had a runny nose, voice was horse, body aches, weakness, and a headache. Whatever I came down with took me out till Sunday. Needles to say I have not been sick for a long time. I am so glad that is over!
