  Whew! How do you like this heat? I am missing the fall and winter days! I am so not ready for summer. It is going to be a scorching hot summer....I just know it! We are hitting the 90s here and I am barely able to take it. Ok, why do we even need to have a summer every year? I would be fine with winter, spring, and fall! Maybe it is the fourty in me that is doing the talking? I do not know. Let us take a minute to pray for our ac units that they are able to perform their duty this summer.   Just been feeling lately like the word existing is what life has been. Have you been so completely drained and you take naps and sleep all night and still wake up exhausted? That's me! I need to start taking vitamins to see if that helps and if that does not work then I need to make an appointment with my doctor soon! How are people going like energizer bunnies at 40? I race against time to get stuff done before my exhaustion starts to set in and literally take over me and of course I succumb to it. I loath it, whatever it is! I work in a small city and sometimes I wonder if the city just sucks the life out of me because as soon as the clock strikes 5pm I am running, like Cinderella when the clock strikes twelve, to my car and I am racing to get back home....to the country.  HELLO YALL!  We are in the middle of February already! How is life going for everyone? Mine...working and cooking. Cooking and working! This weekend my hubby and I cleaned the Farmhouse and mopped everything. Of course we muttered to each other how dirty things really are and we could not believe our eyes, even though we clean during the week....more like spot cleaning. We both work full-time jobs, so no one is a stay at home anything! So! No one is to blame but we help each other as best we can. Everyone pulls their weight to help with the house chores. Of course house chores are never ending. Cleaning is just a part of life. There is no way around it.  On Saturday our reset starts for the new weekday begins with cooking dinner with plenty of left overs and making my hubbys sweet bread for his coffee to take in the mornings.   Both ovens are on and the whole house is filled with the aroma of something being baked! When my husband and I first moved into the farmhouse I had to restock all my spices to be able to bake whatever my heart desired. When we were designing the farmhouse I told my husband since we were moving to the country I needed a big kitchen. We came up with designing a baking kitchen and a cooking kitchen. How dirty baking or cooking can become and having all the ingredients everywhere....I needed space. There also needed to be enough counter space to allow the baked goods to cool off....so hence the baking kitchen and the cooking kitchen. This weekend I have hopes and dreams of trying my hand at some homemade oatmeal raisin cookies. Fingers crossed the recipe I am trying is a tried and true recipe.
