Living in Florida.........animals...maybe working soon?
Well! Here I am getting ready for tomorrow.....Why? Ok...well...you know it started out as an idea. I had the wonderful idea of maybe applying for some jobs and see if I would get an interview and possibly land a job. I had one interview so far and nothing came of it....even though the one doing the interview said that the interview went very well. I did expect to get a call saying, "you got the job." That call never came for me. I decided just because we fail does not mean to give up. You know as a Christian I somehow always believed failure was so wrong. What do I mean by failure being wrong? Well, if I failed at something it was not of God and we should just give up altogether. In business, failure just means to reinvent yourself or try another way. If we never face rejection or failures then how do we expect to grow? Just because I am a Christian does not mean everything is going to work all perfectly! Sometimes we just have to try harder....don't give up...move forward even if we fall down. If you fall down don't lay there and die, get back up. We move forward no matter what! So! Over the weekend I got a call for another interview for tomorrow. Do I have my hopes up to get this job? Of course I do! I have not worked for eight years! Since my daughter was born I became a stay at home mom. Being a stay at home mom is the hardest job on this planet. Before my daughter was born I worked a full time day job, went to college three days of the week at night, studied in between taking patients back to see the doctor, married (that is a job all by itself), cooking, cleaning, and seeing his parents and my parents....with all of that, I found out that being a stay at home mom is one of the hardest jobs ever! Don't get me wrong! I love that I can be home with my daughter. I just miss the conversations with coworkers and clocking out at 5pm and the drive home. Anyways, I do have a second job interview and I am hoping to get this job. But, if I don't get this job guess what? Life goes on still. I did start to think about how hard it is to get a job right now for me. I mean I have been out of the working field for eight years and no on wants to hire me or give me chance! I began to think what if something happened to my husband what in the world would I do? How would I support myself and my daughter? If I ever have the opportunity to become an employer I will give people an opportunity....if they show me in the interview they really want to work.
Speaking about life! Its so wonderful to see the farmhouse come to life. It seems like every time we drive out to the farmhouse there is life there. Oh ya, it is still raining here in Florida! With all this rain, the dirt road to the farmhouse is so muddy. We literally have to drive pretty fast thru the mud holes. If you stop in the mud holes you will for sure get stuck. We are not the only one's having to drive fast thru the mud holes but we see our neighbors doing the same thing. It's pretty funny to see everyone having to drive thru pretty fast to not get stuck. Well back to life, meaning animals, we were finally able to get on our street and there on the side is a snapping turtle. Of course, I parked the car on the side of the road and got some pictures of him...and of course it turned into a photo shoot.
You can see in the third picture of the turtle that there has been so much rain that it is flooding.
When we pulled into the driveway there was cranes in the yard. Our builder has been moving dirt around the farmhouse to make everything level and I am sure there are bugs showing up and the cranes were there to feast.
So far we have met our neighbors and people who live around the neighboring streets. Let me say everyone looks out for each other! It's country folk and what else should I expect? When we left the farmhouse we did end up getting stuck! There was a man there with his tractor and he was trying his best to fix the roads. He saw we were stuck and without even having to call him to us, he came right over and pulled us out. When we were out, our neighbor that lives right across us ended up getting stuck and we all pitched in to help him out. That's what the world needs more of.......like the neighbors we have been blessed with. Of course I am not bragging but!
Since I have been staying with my mother in law she has been doing the cooking. I have not had a home for a year. I am so tired of living in an RV. But back to my mother in law...she does all the cooking! I have been so spoiled and once my home is ready I hope I remember how to bake and cook! My mother in law's cooking is homemade Mexican cooking and it is soooooo good! This is my mother in law's kitchen and she cooks like a mad scientist. I mean she will have pots boiling with steam coming out of them and frying in the others. It is so funny to see it all go down.
These are green enchiladas and so good.
This is chicken in mole sauce and it is one of my favorite dishes.
Like I mentioned before we have had rain non-stop and there are no farmhouse updates right now. The builder said next to go in is more trim work, ac unit installation, and shiplap to go on the fire place. I will update as soon as possible about the farmhouse and see if I will be a working gal? Fingers crossed!
Thanks for spending time with me, be blessed, be safe, and may God take care of you and all your loved ones.
Thanks,
Sonya
