August 26th 2023 Filling up the farmhouse.....slowly!

Hey Yall! Blessings to all of you! I hope everyone is doing well....and if you are barley getting by....join my club. I have had a busy week. WORKING! I'm not complaining! I know in this economy I am so blessed to have a job that is busy. I was telling my husband about a week ago, I would like to slow down and have fewer clients and low and behold BAM! getting phone calls to accept new clients. I DID complain to my husband about my work increasing and he told me to thank God because its tuff right now. Keep in mind I work four hours a day and were looking at an increase to eight hours a day. So! I put a sock in it and said Lord thanks for looking up ahead because you obviously have seen our future and I need to keep on working! Thanks Lord! He provides the work and strength and all I need to do is show up. His grace is what I live on.

Of course with this economy.....I think we are all on a budget. I am still filling up the farmhouse with pans, pots, and decor. I am not going to be spending lots of money on stuff. I am going to stretch every dollar, heck I am going to stretch every penny! I cook dinner to make sure we have left overs and we "eat the left overs." In order to stay under budget I simply thrift. I love Goodwill's or any kind of thrifting store. I tried Salvation Army, but jiminy crickets, they were loosing their minds on their prices! Never again! You know, I was thinking about where all the stuff comes from in places like the thrifting stores.....some of it came from people who can no longer stay in their homes and they have to get rid of all their belongings. I walk in and look at everything and even if I don't buy anything I think of the things I have and one day when I get old someone will be looking at my trinkets and will take them home. They will have my blessing! Take it home! Bring life back into it or better yet pass it down to your children! I buy from thrifting stores and bring life back into it. There are still good times to be had! Amen! All the pictures below are all from different times I have thrifted. One thing about me...I LUV different textures and different patterns to decorate my home. I do love Pioneer Woman! I see people selling their stuff to buy new stuff to decorate and I don't really like to do that. I like to mix and match new things to add to the existing one's. Different strokes for different folks.

My husband has a small game room and this is right up my price range and of course I brought it home. This beauty was under $6 bucks! In his game room, we are very slowly buying to fill up the space. Very slowly! He wanted a futon in his room and I found one on Facebook Market place and under $50 bucks! The futon was still in great shape and looks like it was hardly used.

I loved this picture of a couple together in Paris and everything is in black and white with the couple under a red umbrella. I bought the red baskets and paired it with the picture. It is hanging in my master bedroom. I LUV! I am not finished with filling this particular space yet.

You can see the sugar and milk cups are in the coffee bar. I put the chicken in my baking kitchen. I almost left that chicken at Goodwill but I am so glad I brought him home!

This is my glass pan section. I have been buying here and there Pyrex. I added this Pyrex bowl to my collection. Little by little!

I did not know at the time when I bought the red, what I thought was a roasting pan, was actually a bread pan and it is from Italy. I love the red and I will be making some homemade bread soon with this little beauty. I have also started a collection of soup bowls and I don't care what color they are. I am up for all colors.

Here is where their permanent home will be as long as they are with me.

I snatched up this baking pan for $4. Here is the pan in her resting place in my backing kitchen at the bottom.

Look at these beauties! I love the colors and little house designs. I have been slowly collecting coffee mugs for when I have lots of company and to make sure I have enough coffee cups for everyone.

I bought two Longaberger pie plates. Online these sell $50 per pie plate. I paid $1.98 per pie plate at Goodwill. Boy did I luck out on these. The pink color on these are amazing.

Filling up the Farmhouse will never have an ending date. I don't think I will ever be done and guess what, that's ok. Everything I have will be passed down to my loved one's. I want to encourage you to keep planning those short and long term goals. Take your time to reach those goals and enjoy the failures along the way and keep trying. Don't ever stop. There will always be discouragement, failures, and everything that can be shaken is guaranteed to be shaken. Enjoy the process good or bad. Just keep moving forward while we are still bodily able. There will come a time in our life where we will not be able to move as we would like. Walk, run, think, plan, and simply live! Amen!
