Let's catch up! (August 13, 2023)

It's been a while! Let's define a while...September 17th 2022 was my last entry. I have to say we have been busy. We have moved into the farmhouse, planted flowers and vegetable plants, painting, eating, and just enjoying life. We have had our share of ups and downs. With the grace of God, boy, have we made it thru our downs and enjoyed our mountain top moments! That sums up life in a nut shell. Life is not meant to be easy.

Living in the country has been so wonderful! There is so much peace here. When we go to the stores there are not many lights to go thru. It is all country roads and cows. We live on a dirt road and we see all kinds of wildlife. So far there have been turtles, deer, pigs, and foxes. The sunsets are AMAZING!  Ever since I was a little girl, it was so important to me to go outside and watch the sun go down. I needed to see the sign that signaled it was the ending to another day. Here in the country it is the highlight of my twilight. Boy! I am a blessed girl and I sure do appreciate it! With these country roads that are made of dirt.....at dusk I make sure to walk. Walking does a body good.

Oh! I am a working gal! I am going to be truthful here....there are days I don't want to work. I love what I do for a living. The job I do I learn new things and put them into use. I was a stay at home mom for 8 years and never in my wildest dreams thought I would be returning back to work. In my opinion working is keeping me young or at least that's how I feel. Before I started to work I was feeling sluggish and felt like I was just wasting away. Of course, stay at home mom's job is not easy at all! I believe a stay at home mom is the hardest and most important job of all!

With the summer coming to an end I am so thankful I was not afraid to try my green thumb in our soil. I learned my soil is not the best at growing plants or vegetables. I learned to put everything in pots, which I had more success with. The flowers actually grow in the dirt and had zero problems. My flowers are still growing and they are beautiful. I was able to make some bouquets from my flowers. Just small bouquets. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to go outside and choose which flowers I want and cut them and put the bouquet on my kitchen island. I simply love it! It is the best feeling in the world.  In my laundry room I did designate a gardening space. I saved egg cartons to plant seedlings. This gal was very busy.  Before moving into the farmhouse I used to dream of planting lots of sunflowers and I have to say I completed that dream! They were beautiful and Yes! I sat in the middle of those sunflowers just because I could and that's exactly what I did! Oh! Yes! I had a problem with large crane birds and they would come and eat the corn seed that I planted and so I had to make a scare crow and it worked like a charm to keep them away. One of my goals was to attract bees and butterflies and the sunflowers achieved that goal.

With all these beauties growing I had to have my little one sit looking at them. It was a moment I had to capture. Thank you Lord for the blessings of allowing these flowers to grow. I am so grateful and I loved every minute they bloomed.

Thanks for spending time with me and looking at Risen Acres and how far Risen Acres has come along. God bless yall and keep yall. Be blessed! Much love and grace. Till next time. My TikTok is @sonya_ibarra
