Starting over in my garden.

Spring is in the air! I am usually a fall season kind of girl. As far as I can remember I have loved fall and welcomed clocks going back one hour and loved the early sunsets! I am fourty one years old and I am having a slightly different mind set now. I may be turning into a Spring girl! With the deep cold we had in Florida back to back this year, it killed all my plants. A lot of people in Florida lost their trees and plants. We had a mango tree we planted four years ago when we moved into the farmhouse and this year the tree was going to start growing mangos! The tree had buds and my husband and I were so excited! Well the deep frost hit our state twice and now the mango tree may be a goner! We were devastated! I also had two pineapple plants that should of given me two pineapples this year and I lost those to the deep cold also! I told my husband I simply did not want to think about it! I will look at it as a fresh start and find the excitement to see a vision of a new garden! Come on vision! Come to me! Please!

My husband and I are hatching a plan to find the time to get all the dead plants out, of course we will be doing the labor ourselves, and to make sure we do everything right......we will go the extra mile on this project! I envision yellow, blue, purple, white, green, and pink flowers. I want all the colors! My home is mostly white and with black trim.....a true farmhouse. Remember it is a farmhouse. We need a garden with color! We need COLOR up in here!

These are some of the plants I would like at my home.

Money is tight for everyone, you know what I mean.......so we will buy some flowers here and there until we have a finished product! I want spring for heaven's sake! I have to admit we have a huge front porch and we do not use it much and it is partly because I am kind of embarrassed of the dead plants.....its like a plant cemetery out there! Who wants to see that? NOT ME! We just need to get started! Some movement is better than none. Right?!

These are the two people who will hopefully get the garden done! (My husband and I)

How are you doing? How is your family? If you are having hard days remember that is a part of life! Take one second, minute, or hour whatever it takes for you to get thru whatever you are going thru. If you fall....crawl and then rest. You will eventually be able to walk and then run again. You can make it thru! Go easy on yourself. Take care of you! When you take time to rest read a book, watch a movie, take a nap, draw, or do whatever will help you rest. You exist and you are important. Oh! If you are invited to go out or whatever it is ok to say no.

Here is an example of resting....just in case you forgot how to rest. This is Mando our boy cat.

I wanted to take this time to try and say something without giving away too much. I have been working so much, just like everyone else right now to make ends meet. I have been working in the back ground to launch some things. I have been researching and calculating to make sure I have/ had my ducks in a row and I was super excited! Well.....you know when you hit a few snags in the road and thats when I start to drag my feet. You know that feeling of when the ideas are not easily aligning like I thought they would. When this happens, I tend to pick up those plans like a pot on the stove and set it on the back burner.....just to simmer for a bit. It is like....ok...Im feeling a little defeated here but I will take a time out and come back to it. I have no idea why I do this?! I want to keep moving forward but with no interruptions!
Because,  I want to put my best foot forward I do not beat myself up for just stepping away for a minute or just for a couple of days but I always circle back!

These are some of my girls that lay chocolate, blue, and green eggs!

I read somewhere after fourty we are at our "just tinkering about" age. I find myself doing this.....tinkering. I have so much I want to do but I run out of time and energy. As of this moment I made the decision that my daughter needs to learn a musical instrument. When I was younger I learned to play the trumpet, flute, and the piano. Of course, it has been years since I have picked up and played a musical instrument. I can happily say I do know how to read music and to transpose music. So, hence my daughter will learn to play the violin! She is so smart and I know she has it in her to learn to play the violin. I will be sure to give an update on the next blog post about how the violin lessons are going!

I did do some research and there are countless youtube videos that teach how to play the violin and the books that I would need to order. I am pretty excited and I know my girl can conquer this!

I wanted to share this cute incident with one of our out door cats we feed. We have three outdoor cats named Tiger, Leilo, and Cow. We had a mama cat drop her three kittens off to us and she comes and goes but the babies stayed. They wait by our back door every night at dinner time to get their dinner. They are so pretty and they are a part of our family. This weekend while I was laying down for a nap I looked out my bedroom window and I saw our cat named Cow. He was on the top netting part of our chicken coop. He was just laying down and his face was facing towards the sun setting. It was as if he was watching the sun go down all while the chickens were under him! I ended up taking pictures of him. I get to see the funniest and most precious things in the country.
Our chicken coop

There is Cow our cat.

What a funny guy Cow is. We had to take out two of our young roosters from the chicken coop because the two roosters kept attacking our hens, which is not ok. The two roosters would walk around with the three cats and sometimes eat some of the cat food. The cats and the two roosters have learned to coexist and it is so funny to see them together! Oh! Country living!

Got dinner going. Just because I work full-time I still make time to cook for my family.

My mind has been plagued thinking about Time. Lately I feel I am trying to make my time count. I want every hour, minute, and second to count. I was starting to hate time. Time feels like a thief...it felt like it was stealing my time and now that I am getting closer, time is ticking much faster.

Change my mind.......time is bringing me closer to seeing God....instead of taking me away.

I find myself wanting to do more things and plan my day out with a list to check off and I guess I do this to make myself feel like im making my time check out or making the clock count for the day.

We live by time and die by it. Time is showing its signs on my body. I notice some lines on my face and I have to admit I am no longer walking like I did in my precious twenties! Guess what? I am ok with that! I am grateful for this life. I am appreciative of the memories I am making. I love coming home to my small family.....it is a blessing! You being able to go home everyday and love on your family is our gift of life. Sometimes we take that in itself for granted......lets pause and remember to be thankful! I am thankful. I am still important. We are living! Let's live this beautiful and fragile life! 😊

Yours Truly,

Sonya Marie
